As my updated Fedora 7 support isn't yet in the official ATI drivers (like what I had done for 8.28.8 with the mainstream drivers and legacy drivers) I have written a new script for Fedora 7 Test 1.
This script will check to see if the fglrx 8.33.6 installer is in the same directory as the script, and if it is that will be used for the base. If the installer isn't in there or has a different name it will be downloaded directly from ATI.
The changes in this script are the ones I have made for Fedora 7 and will likely appear with 8.34. It also includes a 2.6.20 kernel patch. Also, fireglcontrolpanel has been removed from this build script. In its current form fireglcontrolpanel is quite useless so in this version of the script has been removed. This saves on the need for Qt/any problems. Though once this rumored new fireglcontrolpanel is out, that should be interesting :)
This script can be downloaded @
http://www.michaellarabel.com/downloads/fglrx-f7t1-builder.sh. It has been tested with Fedora 7 Test 1. More changes will likely be needed once Fedora 7 Test 2 / Test 3 / Final are out. Any bug problems and feedback is welcome here or on the Phoronix Forums.
If you're serious about testing the fglrx drivers and Fedora 7, please contact me as then you can likely get on the private AMD fglrx Beta list to help out. Likewise, if you're interested in working on driving new innovation into these packaging scripts just contact me. After a recent discussion, I am also looking at setting up these Fedora packaging scripts as a SourceForge project.
