PHXCMS-6, the next version of the Phoronix Content Management System, will now support bulletin board/forum functionality. I am going to be developing a new bulletin board system for a client, and I am going to take the extra time to clean it all up once it's finished along with adding a few extra features, and then hopefully have it done in time to merge with PHXCMS-6. In PHXCMS-6 I will be aiming for lightweight forum feature, and in the continuing revisions then work on making it more like vBulletin/phpBB feature-wise. PHXCMS-6 will likely not replace vBulletin on the Phoronix Forums, but by PHXCMS-10 I hope it will be a possibility.
Ideally PHXCMS-6 will be pushed out in July or August of this year along with a Phoronix.com overhaul. Comments and suggestions (as always) are welcome.
