OS Virtualization Threesome

The below screenshot was taken from work on an upcoming Phoronix article that covers virtualization in Fedora 7. I should point out though that the test machine was an octal-core workstation powered by dual Intel Xeon 5300 processors. The dual Clovertowns and the rest of the system were able to EASILY handle doing a threesome operating system install. The below screenshot (click for larger version) is installing Windows Server 2003, Windows XP Home, and Fedora 7 Test 2 (x86_64) all simultaneously without any choking or other problems. While it was dirty having to install Microsoft Windows XP/2003, the new improvements in Fedora 7 are phenomenal.

The processing power was not the limiting factor but rather running out of screen real estate for this snap-shot :(. It would have been really great if the fglrx drivers supported Compiz/Beryl, so the cube could be used for switching between virtualized systems.

Look for this KVM virtualization article with Fedora 7 guide to come out later this weekend or early next week.
